ઉચ્ચ શિક્ષણ સંસ્થાઓ (HEIs) એ સ્ટાફ સિલેકશન કમિશન (SSC), યુનિવર્સિટી ગ્રાન્ટ્સ કમિશન (UGC) દ્વારા આયોજિત કમ્બાઈન્ડ ગ્રેજ્યુએટ લેવલ એક્ઝામિનેશન (CGLE) દ્વારા નવા ભરતી થયેલા આસિસ્ટન્ટ સેક્શન ઓફિસર્સ (ASOs) ના શૈક્ષણિક પ્રમાણપત્રોની ચકાસણી માટે વિદ્યાર્થીઓ પાસેથી ચાર્જ લેવો જોઈએ નહીં. ) એક સત્તાવાર સૂચનામાં જણાવ્યું હતું.
યુજીસીનો નિર્દેશ એવા અનેક કિસ્સાઓના પ્રકાશમાં આવ્યો છે જેમાં શૈક્ષણિક સંસ્થાઓએ આવા અધિકારીઓના શૈક્ષણિક પ્રમાણપત્રોની ચકાસણી માટે ફીની માંગણી કરી હતી.
“…સરકારી સેવામાં નિમણૂક પામેલા અધિકારીઓની પુષ્ટિ માટે શૈક્ષણિક લાયકાતની ચકાસણી એ પૂર્વશરત છે. તે ઉમેદવારોની વાસ્તવિકતા સુનિશ્ચિત કરવા માટે સરકારના હિતમાં જરૂરી છે, અને તેથી, તે ફરજિયાત હોવી જોઈએ. પ્રાઈવેટ/ડીમ્ડ યુનિવર્સિટીઓ સહિત દરેક શૈક્ષણિક સંસ્થાને આ વેરિફિકેશન મફતમાં કરવા માટે,” UGCના પરિપત્રમાં જણાવાયું છે.
“ઉચ્ચ શિક્ષણ સંસ્થાઓને વિનંતી કરવામાં આવે છે કે જ્યારે પણ કોઈપણ મંત્રાલય/વિભાગ આવી ચકાસણી હાથ ધરવા માટે વિનંતી કરે ત્યારે SSCમાં નવા ભરતી થયેલા ASO ના શૈક્ષણિક પ્રમાણપત્રોની વાસ્તવિકતા ચકાસવામાં આવે.”
