UK MPs Who Took Oath on Bhagavad Gita

After Conservatives were routed in the UK general elections, MPs from across party lines swore their allegiance to the UK Parliament. While most took the oath on the Bible, some MPs broke the norm and preferred Bhagavad Gita for the ceremony.

The former UK prime minister, took oath on the sacred scripture after winning from Richmond.

Despite not being of Indian origin, Blackman took the oath of allegiance to King Charles on the King James Bible and the Bhagavad Gita after winning from Harrow East constituency.

Kanishka Narayan, an MP from Glamorgan has his roots in the Indian state of Bihar. He also took oath on the Bhagavad Gita.
